Thalia Calliope Lake (nee Selimos) age 89 of Arlington Heights, IL; Beloved wife of the late Theodore Lake, Jr.; Cherished daughter of the late Nicholas and Helen Selimos; Loving mother of James T. (Lisa) Lake, Elaine K. (Gene) Flores, Nicholas T. (Pamela) Lake, Tasha D. (Michael) Frederick; Proud Yia Yia of Jacqueline (Tyler) Jensen; Theodore (Lauren) Lake; Daniel, Christine and Stephanie Lake; Thalia, Dennis and Alaina Frederick; Great Yia Yia of Alice and Theodore Jensen; Cherished sister to the late Irene (James) Orphan and the late Constantine (the late Bonnie) Selimos; Fond Theia to Pamala (Tom) Kiriakos, Nicole Orphan, Nicholas (Bufi) Selimos, Theodore (Cherie) Selimos; 

Thalia is the wife of the former Commodore of the Chicago Yacht Club. Some of her accomplishments include: Chairwoman of the CYC’s Ladies Annual Fashion Show, Diamond Sales Associate of C.D. Peacock Jewelers, founding member and President of the Women’s Club of Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Glenview, IL. 

Upon retirement to Marco Island and Naples, Florida, Thalia stayed extremely active serving on their local residential boards. She may be remembered most for her open heart and welcoming home where all were invited on special occasions and holidays. Friends and acquaintances still reminisce about how Thalia made them feel part of the Lake family.

Visitation Monday, October 23, 2023, 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 10301 South Kolmar Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL 60453. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
